On Wednesday, January 26th, 2011, after running multiple "wires down" calls due to the snow storm, the Volunteers were getting ready to make some cocoa and thaw out when the tones were dropped for the report of a house on fire on Greenhill Road, in our own first due.
Engine 351 responded with five personnel and the Chief, and arrived on scene to find a single family dwelling with smoke showing. The crew from Co. 35 pulled a cross lay through the snow and began an aggressive interior attack.
Despite a maze of debris throughout the house, Co. 35 was able to get a quick "knock" on the fire, which had extended through the living room, dining room, and the cockloft.
Engine Co. 35 returned to service in two hours.
